Bird Sighting At Mount Havana
With more than 450 bird species comprising of endemic, resident and migrants, Sri Lanka is a fascinating birding destination for viewing a great variety within a relatively short period. Kumana National park, Sinharaja rain forest, Bundala nationalpark, Hiyare rain forest, Central highland wet lands are a few places where bird watching can be done in Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka any period between October to late April or early May is best for visiting birds.There are over 450 species of birds recorded in the island out of which over 200 belong to the migrating category. 27 species are endemic to the island. Most of the endemic birds are found in the virgin forests of the central hills.
