08 acres of our land is covered in tea plantations and we invite you to walk around and find out the precision of plucking the leaf just between the bud of a tea plant and how this light green coloured tea leaf can end up making a golden brew that is loved across the world.

BIRD WATCHING
happen to be bird watching during the freshest hours of the morning when the world begins to stir from deep slumber. Our reared estate is the ideal breeding and nesting grounds for the many species of these chirpy souls such as the Flame back woodpecker, Lotons Flower Peck and the Scimitter Babbler among many more.

BUTTERFLY SPOTTING
Our butterfly garden is home to some of the most beautiful species of butterflies such as Psyche, Blue Mormon, Blue Glassy Tiger and Crimson Rose. through a careful integration of feeder and host plan we have successfully invited many species of these winged beauties to call Mount havana their home.
The only requirement is that the day needs to be sunny and if so, you simply need to take a walk in our butterfly gardens to enjoy their almost ethereal presence. The activity will usually be held between 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM.

GET HANDS ON WITH BEE FARMING
Bees honey is a natural source of goodness packed with a ton of health benefits and at Mount Havana you can now taste the undiluted, pure, organic bee’s honey straight off the hive. Visit our bee farm and watch how these tireless honey makers of nature create this sweet, gooey goodness and if you feel particularly daring, you can even try to extract a bit of it yourself.

NATURE TRAILS
If you’re a nature lover and want to explore a tropical revering forest with all these living beings, then our nature trail along our 25 acre land through our endemic and indigenous forest trees will be perfect for you to observe the tropical fauna and flora which are prevalent to sub-montane region and experience the rich biodiversity with wayside wildflowers. Our especially made Summer Hut is positioned advantageously so you can watch this scenic view while enjoying a cup of tea. We also never forget to serve a traditional Sri Lankan sweet meat that will accompany your cup of Ceylon tea well.

WORK ON THE GARDEN
Our vegetable gardens are maintained organically and part of our experience is to let you get up close and personal with the fresh ingredients that our vegetable garden has to offer. Help out with the cultivation if you are in the mood, and to finish up, pick up your very own dinner ingredients. You can even cook your own dinner with the help of our friendly chefs who will guide you along the way and just in case you are too tired after all that activity, our chef will cook it for you.
