Eight acres of our land are covered in tea plantations. We invite you to take a walk and learn about the precision of tea plucking and understand how this light green leaf ends up making a golden brew that is loved across the world.

Bird Watching

Enjoy bird watching at the freshest hours of the morning as the rest of the world is just beginning to stir from deep slumber. Our estate is a nesting ground for many gorgeous chirpy souls, such as the flame-back woodpecker peck and the scimitar babbler.

Butterfly Spotting

Our butterfly garden is home to some of the most beautiful species of butterflies, such as the psyche, blue Mormon, blue glassy tiger and crimson rose. Through the careful integration of feeder and host plans, we have successfully invited many species of these winged beauties to call Mount Havana their home. You can witness these creatures frolic among the foliage on a sunny day between 10am and 3pm.

Get Hands-on With Bee Farming.

Experience the purity of organic bee's honey straight from the hive at Mount Havana's bee farm, where you can observe and even try your hand at extracting nature's sweet, gooey goodness.

Waterfall Exploring

Kadiyanlena Falls in Nawalapitiya, known for its pristine beauty, is a favorite among local waterfall enthusiasts. Galaboda Ella Fall, originating from Galboda Canal, stands at 30m tall, with a width varying between 3m and 6m. Its surroundings boast rare orchids and diverse wildlife, including unique reptile species found exclusively in Sri Lanka. Both falls offer captivating experiences for nature lovers.

Cultural/Heritage Tours

The Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy is a revered site, built in 1592, known for its cultural and religious significance. Lankathilaka and Gadaladeniya Temples highlight 14th-century architecture, while Embekke Devalaya is famed for its wood carvings. Ambuluwawa Mountain embodies religious harmony, hosting diverse religious structures and offering panoramic views.

Elephant Orphanage

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a nursery and captive breeding park for wild Asian elephants located in Pinnawala village, 13 km (8.1 mi) northeast of Kegalle, Sri Lanka. Established in 1975, it provides care and protection for orphaned and injured elephants. Currently home to 93 elephants, the orphanage allows visitors to observe them up close, enjoy feeding sessions, and watch them bathe in the nearby river. Pinnawala focuses on conservation, breeding, and educational programs to promote wildlife preservation

Kotmale Dam

The Kotmale Dam is a large hydro-electric and irrigation dam. Located in Kotmale, the dam is the second largest hydroelectric power station in Sri Lanka. Construction of the dam began in August 1979 and was completed in February 1985.

Spent two nights here after arriving in Sri Lanka from UK. Clean and stylish hotel with a first class approach to client care. Large comfy rooms and attached bathrooms. Amazing food with nothing too much trouble. A wonderfully peaceful environment and a perfect place to relax and unwind. Kandy within easy reach and well worth the visit.

We arrived at Mount Havana after a bit of a difficult drive, it was raining and we were so tired from travel, but the minute we arrived we couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces. The place is SO peaceful and the view is magnificent. We loved our 2 nights there – we did a trip into Kandy one day, and just relaxed on the grounds the other. The food was great, the staff were incredibly friendly and personable and the rooms were beautiful. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

We could not have asked for a better place to start our holiday in Sri Lanka. So tranquil and idyllic, with breathtaking views and wonderfully courteous staff. We loved our tour of the gardens and it was great to sample so much of the garden’s produce on the menu. The only problem is that Mount Havana sets the bar very high for all the other hotels we will be staying in! We leave reluctantly but with wonderful memories.

We stayed in the aftermath of the devastating Easter bombings but we couldn’t imagine a place where we felt more welcome and safe then at Mount Havana. The staff is swift, professional and friendly and always at your service with a push on the button. The menu is of high quality and they serve great wines. Do take a tour of the 25 acre eco farm surrounding the complex and get educated about all the local spices and fruits, afterwards you can enjoy the infinity pool with an amazing view
